Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan [sic] Evans & Sutherland advertising poster. Be sure to click the image above for a hi-resolution version!

Size: 20" x 30"
Artist/Illustrator: Unknown
Release Year: 1982
Notes:

  • Evans & Sutherland currently advertises itself as the world's first computer graphics company. This poster was used to advertise the company and its pioneering Digistar 1 system ("the first computer graphics-based planetarium projection and content system"), at trade shows etc.
  • According to one eBay seller, only six to eight prints of this poster are known to exist, as the poster was only briefly used by the company during The Wrath of Khan's original theatrical run.
  • The poster indicates the Digistar 1 was used for The Wrath of Khan to generate starfield effects and tactical displays, while the film's end credits (see below; click to enlarge) indicate tactical displays were created using the Picture System, an analog vector drawing color display capable of drawing large wireframe models and manipulating them in real time [source].
